The Dunfanaghy Heritage Trail was launched in October 2021 and is managed by Dunfanaghy Tidy Towns with support from Donegal County Council. The trail features ten points of interest located throughout the village, with the first stop starting at The Workhouse.
Each stop is accompanied by an audio story lasting approximately three to five minutes. Audio is available in both English and Irish, allowing visitors to engage with local history in a way that suits them.
The trail offers insight into Dunfanaghy’s built heritage, landscape and community stories, making it suitable for visitors of all ages.
The Dunfanaghy Heritage Trail is a guided and self guided walking trail that brings the history, people and places of the village to life. The trail begins at The Workhouse and invites visitors to explore Dunfanaghy at a relaxed pace.
Self guided tour is free by downloading the app. To book a tour guide is €10 per person and must be a group booking of a minimum of 8 people per group.
